Taste of the Track

Have you considered Drivers’ Education (DE), but are not sure if you want to take your car on a race track? Do you have a friend that you have told about your DE experience that would like to check it out? Is your spouse or significant other curious about what you find so intriguing about DE? The Riesentöter “Taste of the Track” program is a way for interested drivers to explore DE without enrolling for a full event. For only $25 any licensed driver over 18 years of age can enroll in our program and receive an informative introductory classroom about DE.

On the day, participants can drive on the racing surface in their car at parade lap speeds, and take a ride at speed with one of our nationally trained instructors. It is a real eye opener to see how one can negotiate a track at high speed, not only repeatedly placing the car within inches of the same reference points, but to do it while carrying on a conversation and instructing.

After signing our standard PCA waiver, paying a nominal $25 fee, you’ll receive an informative introductory classroom about DE.Then it’s time to put on a helmet and get in the passenger seat of one or our instructors’ cars. If you don't have access to an acceptable helmet(Snell Rated SA or M, 2005 or 2010), ask your instructor to locate a spare one for you. For safety’s sake, you’ll be belted in using the same sort of belts or harness system as your instructor.

You will then experience hot laps during one of the normal run groups. Should the ride be too exhilarating, you need only ask and the driver will either slow down to your comfort level or exit the track to let you out of the car.

Passengers are allowed only with instructors. Safety and liability issues prevent us from allowing passengers with non-instructors. Anytime there are 2 people in a vehicle, our track Marshall will verify one is an instructor.

“Taste of the Track” is offered every day at all Riesentöter DE events. To participate simply be at the track by 10am and come to the classroom to sign up.
